Top 5 Benefits of Using Dropbox for a Small Business

Have you ever heard of Dropbox before? If you are internet savvy and always on the lookout for great tools to grow your business with, then you have probably already seen or heard about it.

Dropbox is actually one of the best tools small businesses ought to use, and today, we will talk about just how useful it can be. Using Dropbox for your small business can definitely come in handy!

Top 5 Benefits of Using Dropbox for Business

With so many other cloud storage and sites offering their products and services, a small business has to be picky to get the best. Read more about the differences between two giants: OneDrive and Dropbox and why you should use Dropbox instead of OneDrive. Now, the question is: Is Dropbox the best? The following five benefits of using dropbox for a small business might give you an idea:

Storage Backup

Smart businessmen know that it’s paramount to store important files and data in different places to ensure that they’ll always have a copy, no matter what disaster they encounter.

Right now, it is not enough to have files stored on your website and USB. You need other backup storage, and that is where Dropbox comes in. Dropbox offers you another secure place to store your significant files at. Even better, it allows you to store relatively large files with absolute ease.

File Sharing

Perhaps the best part about Dropbox is how easy it is to share files between your business colleagues and employees. As long as everyone has an account, adding and sharing content will be a breeze.

Of course, if you want to guarantee that your files will be accessed only by people you trust, you can always lock your folders with a password, giving that same password to a select few.

Access

Accessing Dropbox is very easy and flexible, thanks to all the options it offers. Take a look at the access options below, and tell me if they are not convenient:

  • Desktop access—Dropbox offers a downloadable application that allows you to access all your files and folders directly from your Windows PC, Linux, or Mac, even when you are offline.
  • Online access—if you are out of the house and using other computers, you can easily get a copy of your files by going to the Dropbox website and logging into your account.
  • Mobile access—sometimes, we just can’t find any computers to use and get our important data from. At such cases, what you need to do is whip out your mobile device (e.g., iOS, Android, and smartphones), and access your files via the Dropbox app. Pretty neat, right?

Updates

Whenever a file is added or deleted from a shared folder, Dropbox instantly updates everyone who has access to it. This guarantees that you will always have the most important and latest copy of your files.

Retrieval

There are times when we might face problems about our handling
and managing of files. For example, there might be an instance when you accidentally included an essential file in the batch of deleted documents.

If it were to happen to other cloud storage, it might be a little difficult to get your precious file back. With Dropbox, however, retrieving your file is as easy as clicking the “Undo” button.

Dropbox accounts retain a history of files added and deleted within 30 days. This means, you can retrieve crucial files, even if you have trashed it a week ago.

Using dropbox actually offers several other benefits to small businesses. What we discussed today are its most beneficial features. If you are not yet using it, then you might want to give it a try today. Who knows? It might just be the key to your business success!

Great blog! The information you provided was very useful. I have been debating on Dropbox for quite some time now. However, you have made some great arguments, for the benefits, of its use with a small business. Thank You.

Dropbox is really doing a great job when it comes to file sharing. However, I noticed that there’s a lot of changes happening in the document collection space at the moment, more especially for small businesses like mine needing a way to be in control. We’re using Clust a similar app with a lot more functionality like Document requests, custom client portal, due dates, automatic reminders, approval of files, messaging and more.
