Protect Your Small Business Data with Encryption Software

Happy Tuesday All!

As cybersecurity threats continue to increase, it has become of the utmost importance to find ways to safeguard your business data.  I recently read an article published on that stated that one of the top 5 biggest cybersecurity threats of 2013 is……drumroll please– “Internal Threats”.

Internal threats are attacks that are just as the words imply–attacks from employees or other internal users within a company or organization. One of the best ways to protect your business data is by using data encryption software.

What is Data Encryption Software and How Can it be used to Safeguard Your Data?

One popular method that you can use to safeguard your data is by using File Encryption Software.  Simply stated, File Encryption Software is an application that you can install on your pc that will transform your data into an unreadable format to keep outsiders from being able to view it.

One of my all-time favorite and FREE file encryption software programs is TrueCrypt. Some of the main benefits of TrueCrypt is that the software allows you to:

1. Create Virtual Disks on your Hard Drive and Encrypt them

2. Encrypt partitions on your hard drive

3. Encrypt USB thumb drives

4. Password Protect your virtual disks after you create them

5. Uses a wide range of strong encryption algorithms to encypt your files

For more information regarding TrueCrypt, please visit their website at:

Truecrypt is a very powerful and Free File Encryption software that I would highly recommend that you use as a means of protecting your data and information.

Stay safe everyone!
