How to Offer Your Employees the Healthiest Environment Possible

More now than ever, we are waking up to the potentially damaging impact many of us are having on our health through frivolous lifestyles and fervently luxurious pursuits. It is time we started to focus on our health and our lifestyle, and in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of us are wondering how we can give ourselves the healthiest lifestyle and environment possible, at work, at home, and outside. The responsibility to provide healthy workplaces has fallen on companies and businesses, and they are in the process of revamping the way we work and the way we do business to provide maximum safety and health benefits in accordance with new government legislation.

But a healthy environment is not only one removed from germs. A healthy environment is one that promotes and incentivizes a healthy lifestyle. Here is how you can offer your employees the healthiest environment possible.

Protect Your Office from Germs

In the wake of 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, many tech giants are racing to create solutions that will facilitate healthier working and living environments. UVC products are being implemented to kill harmful germs and bacteria and have proven successful so far; the professionals of Healthy Sole are one such tech company, and there are many more, all developing similar technology designed to prevent the spread and distribution of harmful germs and bacteria. By preventing germs and bacteria from entering your office, you will be able to keep your workers safe and promote a healthy environment.

Many offices are introducing initiatives designed to encourage workers to maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene they can in the office. This includes using UVC products to remove bacteria and germs from the soles of their shoes and washing their hands regularly. Many offices and places of work are also distributing personal protective equipment for those who are working for them to ensure that they are protected, and in turn, protecting others.

Oftentimes our workplaces are where we interact most with people outside of our own homes, which means that we risk bringing bacteria and harmful germs and viruses’ home to our families if we come into contact with anybody who is carrying them. This is why it is absolutely imperative that you adhere strictly to your workplace’s anti-virus solutions to ensure your safety, your family’s, and everybody else’s.

Implement a Green Canteen

Unfortunately, the reason that the majority of people are unhealthy lies simply in their diets. We have become so accustomed to processed fatty foods and packaged supermarket food, that we would rather eat something guaranteed to hurt us than we would something that will be good for us in the long run. By implementing a green canteen you will be helping your employees to take a step toward healthier living and promoting a healthier lifestyle. You can ensure that at least while your employees are at work that they are eating healthy and not consuming processed food that will inhibit their productivity and make them tired and lazy.

A green canteen is a canteen that distributes healthy and organic food. You should endeavor to find a food distributor that is not too expensive to save yourself having to charge expensive prices for your canteen’s food, which will put your employees off of eating there. Some companies have even started offering free meals to employees to ensure that they are as productive as possible when at work. A poor diet can make you very tired and very lazy, so that is even more of an incentive to keep your employees healthy.

Open an Office Gym

Office gyms have become incredibly popular over the last decade. The trend started in Japan and has seen wide implementation across the world. If you want to keep your employees as fit and healthy as possible, then implement an employee gym somewhere in your building and enable your employees half an hour a day to attend it. By allowing your employees time to exercise during the day, they will feel refreshed and rejuvenated, and their productivity is certainly going to improve. Exercise is a great mental stimulant and you will find your employees return from the gym feeling reinvigorated and ready to conquer any work that should come their way.

In accordance with government regulations, you should ensure your gym is thoroughly cleaned and that those who attend adhere to social distancing measures and are as hygienic and careful as possible, so not to infect anything.

You should also allow your employees to attend the gym for as long as they want after they have finished for the day and not restrict the time that they can spend there outside of their working hours. If you do not have access to a gym on your property, or cannot make room for one, then consider buying memberships for your employees at a local gym.

Now you know how to keep your employees healthy. You should start immediately with whichever method you choose, as a healthier working environment is a better working environment!
