Fun Ideas for Active Saturday Mornings

Saturday mornings are the start of the weekend – and although everyone knows Sundays are for resting, sometimes it’s nice to get up on a Saturday and enjoy an activity. It makes you feel productive and awake, and can be a great start to the weekend – whether you decide to enjoy something with friends, go for a solo activity, or even something in a group.

But what is a good idea for this kind of activity? With so many choices out there, it can be really hard to decide how we want to spend our time – would you like to do a a sport? Some kind of craft? Learn a new skill? Well, to help you decide, we’ve put together this list of ideas for you to choose from – we’ve tried to pick a range of things, so hopefully there will at least be something that appeals to you!

  1. Enjoy some tennis

Saturday mornings can be a great opportunity to get active with something fun that you enjoy, and tennis is a great low key sport that you could use this time to play. Especially if you are part of a tennis club, this brings together the social and physical aspects that make sport so enjoyable! So this Saturday, pick up your tennis racket and head down to the court. You can enjoy tennis any time of year but if the weather is putting you off, why not try visiting an indoor court.

  1. Learn a language

Evening classes are all the rage, but let’s face it, when you get home after a long day at work the last thing you want to do is fill your brain with more information and spend even more time socialising. All you want to do is relax! So instead of sacrificing your language learning goals, why not join or set up a saturday morning conversation group where you can practise your skills and socialise without the pressure, and without being exhausted? In the mean time, you can download language learning applications like DuoLingo to learn some new vocabulary and to get started!

  1. Join a hiking group

You won’t be the only person in your local area who enjoys getting out in nature, and hiking is a great way to explore – so why not join or start a hiking group? It’s a great way to keep active while enjoying the company of like-minded people. There’s something so refreshing about being outside in nature and hiking can be the perfect way to recharge.

  1. Try a new cafe

Why not find a friend and arrange a weekly meetup where you try a new local coffee shop or brunch spot? This would be a great way to explore the local area as well as getting to spend some quality time with a friend. Plus, after a long week at work, a nice cafe or brunch spot is a great way to treat yourself.

If you know you want to fill your Saturday mornings with something fun but you don’t know what, we hope this list has given you at least some idea!
