Beating the Holiday Tech Shortages

This holiday season, online out-of-stock products are predicted to rise 360% from 2019, with electronics one of the most affected categories.  Supply chain disruptions and the ongoing chip shortages are some of the top factors hindering holiday shopping.  Top gifts are in short supply while holiday shipping windows are getting smaller, and the chip shortage is making electronics more expensive.  This is causing the best tech gifts, such as gaming consoles and televisions, to sell out fast.

However, repairing and regifting used tech could solve the holiday tech shopping issues.  Tech repair is fast with many devices being able to be repaired in one day.  Other benefits include getting around the supply chain issue as there are more than 120 million used smartphones available worldwide and adding several years to a device’s lifespan.  Easy tune-ups such as replacing the battery, hard drive, or screen can make old gadgets work almost like new for less than $110 on average and in no more than 45 minutes.   Investing in quality repairs could reduce household spending on electronics by 22%, saving Americans more than $40 billion each year.

You can beat the holiday tech shortage this year by giving your used tech new life.
