4 Reasons You Should use oDesk for Outsourcing

Well hello again peeps! How was your turkey day? I hope that it was great! Are you familiar with oDesk? If you are not, you are definitely missing out.

I first discovered oDesk a few years ago via good friend and business colleague. At the time, I had just started a consulting business and needed some assistance with social media marketing. After a brief chat with my friend, he told me to check out oDesk.com. I have to say, oDesk is now one of my favorite websites and resources to use for outsourcing.

 What is oDesk?

oDesk is essentially an online platform that allows you to hire freelancers to work on various projects for you. Believe me when I tell you, there is definitely something for everyone on the site. I now use oDesk for ALL of my outsourcing needs.

Why You Should Use oDesk for Outsourcing

1. You will have access to abundance of freelance talent

I just cannot say enough about some of the freelancers that I have had the privilege of working with on oDesk. oDesk gives you the ability to work with a ton of super talented freelancers from around the globe with all kinds of specialties. Some specific examples of work that you can outsource via  oDesk.com are:

  • Design projects
  • Administrative projects
  • Social Media Marketing assistants
  • Audio and Video Editing projects….and so forth

 2. You can save time

Ever hear of Michael Gerber’s book The E-Myth? If you haven’t had to chance to read this book, it is one that I think every entrepreneur should read. In the book Michael Gerber stresses that as an entrepreneur you should focus your energies on “working on your business and not in your business”. I couldn’t agree more with this statement. If you find that you are spending too much time on certain tasks (customer follow ups, bookkeeping, etc) – outsource them. This way, you can focus your efforts on growing your business.

3. You can save money

I have been outsourcing projects for over 3 years now and let me tell you… I have saved a lot of money by doing so. Outsourcing allows for small business owners to get projects done at a fraction of the cost. According to a survey of 837 U.S. Businesses, 78% of them reported that outsourcing to freelancers give them a cost savings advantage over other competitors.

4. You can reduce staffing costs

Most small businesses are operating on a tight budget and do not have the funds available to hire full-time staff. By hiring seasonal and temporary workers on an as-needed basis, you will not have to worry about paying for health benefits, salaries, and etc.

I encourage you all to stop by and check out oDesk.com when you get a chance. I think you will learn to love this site and discover how advantageous it is to use outsourcing in your business.
